Home network problem

My home network is a desktop wired to the router and the laptop thats
wireless. Both machines "See" each other but can't share files/printers
although I have set each to share. Can't ping the other machine either. Any
suggestions?
TIA,
David

If you can't ping the other machine it implies that one or both don't
have the right IP settings. Are they both on the same subnet with the
correct subnet mask?

Also, what do you mean by "see" each other?

Their IPs are 192.168.100 and 192,168.1.101, they show for network
neighborhood but can't connect for printing/file sharing. Both have XP Pro.

neither of those are valid -- the first has too few numbers, and the
second contains a comma

That was the problem! I changed wireless routers and the IPs were set
differently than before! I had zonealarm set to allow
192.168.0.2-192.168.0.100 previously. Thanks,
David

I'm a bad typist should have been 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101

My guess is you have a firewall enabled.
