Hold F7 at the blue...

I was wondering can anyone confirm the statement below? What are the
implications of doing this if it can be done?

When the blue screen shows where it says "press F6 to install 3rd
party".. etc etc.. PRESS AND HOLD F7.

I'm not sure actually how long to hold it (I held it till the screen
changed). This will force XP to NOT install ACPI and all your hardware
gets it's own IRQ like in Win9X/ME systems.

Interesting - I never have heard of it - but I can say that what it does is
loads the Standard PC HAL and the ACPI compliance check is bypassed...
