Is there any wya to fix the FP Hit COunter so that if I'm viewing the page
and click refersh it doesn't increment the counter or do I have to go use a
3rd party counter to accopmlish this?

That is how a hit counter works, it count every time the page is viewed.

Yes but lots of better solutions have options to not count repeat hits so you
can get an accurate count of the number of visistors to your site and not
just the bare counting of how many times a page has loaded.

I've used www.sitemeter.com before and they offer that which is great.

Hit counters are not reliable for stats purposes,
and IMHO a useless decoration.
To get an accurate picture of your site's activity, use the server logs.

Unfortunately in this case that is how the FP counter works. use a third
party product for comprehensive statistics if you need them.

Great suggestion. You can get so much better information about who is
visiting your site, where they are coming from, not to mention what type
equipment they are using!!

Of course, kids like to see counters, so just put a small table down with
999,364,904. That should do it.

Then you need to use sitemeter...the FP hit counter counts every hit/refresh
to the page.
