History not kept

D

David G. Wilson

IE 6.0.2800.1106

The history is not being kept; except for the current browser session and in
the "By Most Visited" view. All other views are empty.

Currently have it set for two weeks (14 days).

Tried the Repair IE option. Have tried resetting it to 0, 1 day, 7 days;
clearing it; ect. no joy!

Any ideas?

In Internet Options, under the Advanced tab, do you have the "Empty
Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed" checked?

David,
In addition to what JM has stated, some third party pop-up ad blocker programs, have a similar setting, that needs to be changed also.

Hi,
This can be caused by the ActiveX Control filters in McAfee AntiVirus. If
you disable the "Active X Controls" filter under the Internet Filters in
VirusScan 6.0 the IE History should work properly.

Your History folder may be damaged.
See: How To Delete the Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
Note: Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder and a new one will be created when you restart.

Additional possibilities at:

Hope this helps,
Don
