History and AutoComplete

Hi.
I want to clear my History trail and AutoComplete list to
free up some disk space...going to tools, options, clear
history is not working. I close IE, reopen it and the
History trail is not cleared and neither is my
autocomplete Websites. What do I do?

Delete the History folder and index.dat:
