Hiding some of the folders in Outlook

I have an unusual question. I am curious as to whether there is a way
to hide some of the folders that I don't use in Outlook's Folder List?
For example, I never use the Notes or Journal folders but cannot
determine how to get them out of that view.

No, you can remove them from the folder list. You can delete them from the
outlook bar or Navigation bar in Outlook 2003.

You cannot "get rid" of the unused folders in the Folder View of your
primary delivery location.
