hide when minimized option-Outlook 2003

I like to use the hide when minized option so that I just have the system
tray icon showing, but, if I stay away from Outlook too long (I haven't timed
it, but I'd guess more than maybe 15 minutes) I get an error message when I
click the icon to open Outlook. The message says that Outlook is not
responding, but then it maximizes. My question is, is this process making
Outlook unstable? Is it still okay to continue to use the program or should I
not use the hide feature? Nothing appears to be wrong with it when it
maximizes, but those kinds of error messages are a little scary. Has anyone
else had this problem? I'm using WinXP Professional SP1. thanks for any help.

This happens when it takes Outlook longer to restore than expected. Windows
XP frees memory when an application hasn't been used for a while so system
resources become available for other processes. Restoring a program back
into memory can take a while longer when you have add-ins that use a lot of
memory, a big mailbox, running more applications that take up a lot of
resources or simply don't have enough memory.
