Hide/Remove Instant Messenger from my user account

My son uses an instant messenger on his user account but when I log into my
account his im screen pops up...is there a way for me to remove or hide this
from popping up when i'm logging in to my account?

Check Start > All Programs > Startup. If IM is there, right-click it
and click on Delete. It's ok to delete it since it's only a
shortcut. It will also stop IM from popping up when you log into your
account...
