I can see cell text in the status bar - but text in the actual cell is not
visable? Does anyone have a clue why.

There are several things to check:

1. make sure the identation is not pushing the text out of view
2. make sure text wrapping is not consistent with the cell dimensions
3. make sure the color of the text is not the same as the background color.

Conditional formatting hiding it? The font colour is white?

Hi all,
Thanks for your inputs. I found the problem - it was related to standard
typography.

Lars,
Issues:
1) When I open an existing spreadsheet (expense report not a template) that
has text in rows. The text shows up in the status bar but isn't visable in
the cell. If you go into the cell, the text is there.
2) All the rows were compressed to very small.
3) When it prints, all the text is on the page.

I installed Excel 2003 SP2 - Standard Edition for Teachers and Students.
Have it on 2 pc's. The most recent PC is where the issue shows up. If I open
the same file on my other PC it is fine.

All answers to your previous thread aply. Font color is black. No unusal
fonts etc.

Any ideas?

If you can see cell contents in the Formula Bar(not Status Bar) perhpas you have
the cells Custom Formatted to ;;; (that's 3 semi-colons).
