That should normally be corrected via My Computer > Tools > Folder options

Open up a folder (My Computer, etc) and click Tools at the top. Go down and
click Folder Options. Click the "View" tab up top. Skim down the Files and
Folders group until you see Hidden files and folders. Under that, you will
see 2 options. "Do not show hidden files and folders" and "Show hidden files
and folders." Click Do not show hidden files and folders and the hidden files
should not be seen anymore

Leslie,

You mean a folder window automatically opens at startup?
If so, which folder is that?

not sure how to fix this.

Thanks again
