Hidden Fax Window

For several months now, my computer has been "locking up"
in such a way as to make it impossible to reboot it
without using the main power switch to turn the entire
computer off...then power back up again.

When it does lock up and I attempt to shut it down
the "normal way" using the restart I get a window that
pops up showing that it is attempting (with no success) to
close something called: "HiddenFaxWindow".

Does anyone know anthing about this?, I'm not using a fax
program and never have, Is this a "bug" or program?, Could
this be causing my computer to "lock up"?

Incidently, the computer locks up mainly while using
AOL....which I have uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times
with no luck...but it also happens when AOL is NOT running.

I've been having the same problem for a while now too, plus I get "End now"
dialogs occasionally for ctfmon.exe and explorer.exe. HijackThis didn't come
up with anything, nor Spybot. This seems to be a rare problem as there is
nothing specific that I can find anywhere on the web.

Did you have any success? I'd be most grateful if you could let me know.

HiddenFaxWindow seems to be from the Fax service. Disable the Fax service,
if you have no need of it. Or uninstall Fax Services.
