HID driver

I have a USB device that is made by RFIDeas. It basically reads HID prox cards .
When I plug it in to the USB port it is detected by XP Pro and indicates it is now ready to be used. However, when I try to read a prox card no data is sent to the application (notepad, word, or even the application). It is supposed to look like keyboard input. My only clue is that in WDM it shows the Device Usage line as grayed out under the USB Human Interface Device Properties tab.

I have tried removing and letting the system detect many times.

Go to Control Panel>AdminTools>Services>Human Interface Devices and
see if it's started and
set on Auto.
