USB installs as an HID Device

Hello Everyone,
I have a few usb to serial 9pin cables. Everytime I plug these cables into
the USB port it installs them as an HID Device instead of a Serial Device
with a comm port. I need them to go into the comm port section. Any
suggestions on how I can get windows to achieve this.

The cables only appear as Human Interface Device(s). You'll need to
actually attach the end-point serial device. Without the Serial device
XP has nothing else to enumerate.

Thanks for the comment, but when I plugged a serial device still nothing only
the hid device. I get nothing that installs under the serial port.
