I have a new laptop with windows XP professional. Initially both the
hibernate and standby options at shut down and by using the keybord keys were
available. Now they are not available anymore. I cannot recollect anything
special that I did and might have caused this. Also, when I go to power
options in the control panel, the hibernate tab doesn't show up. When I go to
power manager and check the box "enable hibernation", the check mark
disappears as soon as I hit Apply.
Reading the help, it sounded like this is the behavior of computers or
components that do not support the standby and/or hibernate options. As I
know they were there before, I know this is not the case.
Any help on this?
Thanks
