How do I get my computer to tell me how much space is left on the hard drive
"C" It seems to be stuck on the way it was when I first installed Vista,no
matter what I install.

What do you get when you click on the Start Orb> Computer?

You should have floppy, hard drive, dvd dirve, etc.
and above that, hard drives itemised as to used capacity.

Right. Capacity doesn't change (unless you water the drive frequently).

"Used" space and "Free" space do change.
