How to rename my HHD?

I want to change the name of my HHD "H" (which gives me the "error" "free
5000k of space") to "C" so I can install Flash player,
If I change the name of HHD "H" to "C", will I have any problems with
files/programs created/installed on "H"?

Problems; allmost certainly as your windows registry, on whichever is your
system disk, by default C, will have pointers to H.
If indeed your sys disk is C, then trying to rename C will probably lead to
a none functioning sys

Perhaps explain which is your sys disk, the disk upon which Win is
installed, and the Exact err msg

If your Windows installation went to drive H: then it must
remain on drive H:. While it is possible to change the drive
letter from H: to C:, this would partially cripple your system.

If FlashPlayer won't install on drive C: then you can probably
fool it with this little trick:
- Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
- Type this command:
subst C: H:\ {OK}

Thruogh frustration I am almost ready to re install XP etc...but am worried
about folders and stuff getting lost if i save "my docs" to a memory stick
and try to put them back after reinstalling XP sp2

Sigh . . . Yet another poster who believes that files saved on
a hard disk are there in perpetuity. One day you will get a
very rude suprise when you find that your hard disk has
failed or that some malfunction has destroyed your file system.
Important files must be stored on at least two separate media.
It's a lesson that many people learn after the first big disaster,
and the tuition fees for this lesson are very, very steep. Backing
up once a week to a 2.5" disk installed in an external USB case
is much, much cheaper and far less painful.

Thanx for your reply,( Flash does not give me the chance to tell it which
drive to install to, it just starts automatically once double clicking the
Flash installer icon.)
I tried the trick but,...I get" Invalid parameter - C:"

That's because you omitted an essential detail in your
first post: That drive C: is already used by an external
storage device. Disconnect it first, or give it a different
drive letter, then try again!
