I run a dual o/s PC - WinXP SP2 and Vista Ultimate.
In device manager of XP I have no unknown equipment.
In device manager of Vista I have one unknown device. I would like to
delete this but cannot.

All meaningfull suggestions welcome.

You cannot delete a device that is detected by the OS. The only option is to
disable it if you like, which will give you the same result.

Have you going to the Device Properties > General (tab) > click in the
'Device usage' list box and select 'Disable'?

Hello davegthomas,

Check the hardware vendors website for all Vista drivers and chipset updates
etc.

Best regards

OK so I can't delete it even though I and the OS don't know what it
is!

Seems strange but who am I.

I have disabled whatever it is.

Thanks all
