Here's a weird one

A fresh install of XPSP2 on a newly formatted disk. Reboot, and now I'm
getting radio stations over the speakers. A bunch of them all at once,
sounds terrible. It didn't do this before the format and reinstall. None of
my other computers does it either.

There is no tuner card or the like on this computer. It's very basic -
onboard video & sound, one hard disk, one dvd drive. No cards, no modem,
nothing else installed.

Weird. I've never had anything like this happen before.

The cable to the external amp and speakers had become partially unplugged,
just enough so that it lost its shielding, so the amp was getting radio
noise, maybe from the computer case.
