Does anybody know how to get XP to recognize my
integrated sound card after a re-install of XP?

can't hear any sounds from my PC..

What kind of reinstall?
Do you need to reinstall the driver for your sound card?
 
Check out for the device manager error code number for the sound card in the
device manager and reply to this mail with the same
