HELP!!!!!!

I posted this yesterday, but I didn't get an answer and I
REALLY need help
When I start up windows (xp professional) the logon
screen takes me to my desktop with this error message,
but won't let me access anything - no programs show up on
my desktop and no start menu - nothing
"userinit.exe - application error"

I tried this, but it won't help because I can't get to
any files at all - after I get the error message it takes
me to a blank desktop and no access to files, control
panel - NOTHING!!
