.Brandon.

The other day I ran into a bit of a problem. First of all I got a
message which stated that my "D" or storage drive needed to be
reformatted so I did so.

Now whenever I start windows it either just
keeps loading without actually logging in to windows or else it shows
this message. "Windows did not start successfully due to a recent
software or hardware change"...then gives the option to start windows
with the "Last known good configuration or else to start windows
anyway". Yet when I choose one or the other it just goes to the
"Windows Xp" loading screen and then just keeps "loading" until it
restarts and doesn't run Windows Xp.

I have my windows Xp disk and installed it manually except now it says
that Windows Xp set-up is complete and that it'll finish the set-up
after restarting but then when it restarts my computer no further
set-up begins or is even available to enter as far as I know.

How do I finish setting Windows up? Do I need to change anything else
with my hard drive or switch things around in BIOS? Hopefully someone
will help me soon because I can't seem to figure this out.

Windows never sends a message that a drive needs to be reformatted. You may
be the victim of a virus, spyware or some online hoax. Don't fall for such a
thing in the future.

Can you start your computer in Safe Mode? If not, you may need to erase your
hard disk and start from scratch.
