i need help trying to figure out what happened to my mom
computer. she was playing a game on it offline and the
screen just went off and on so she turned the computer
off and when u turn it on now all u get is green lines on
the screen.so i took her cpu thinking it was a monitor
problem to my computer and it put it on my monitor and it
did the samething with the green lines. please help me
understand what could of happened and maybe how to fix
it.... thanks missy

Problem is definitely not CPU. If any problems with CPU the computer
wouldn't work.

It is most likely that the display adapter is dead. Check if you have a
'plug-in' or on-board adapter.

If it's plug in, take it out and go down to a PC shop to get an equivalent
replacement.

if it's on board, buy the replacement and make sure that you 'disable' the
on-board adapter in BIOS: consult the manual for instructions.
