I am setting up windows and want to put all my files on one drive and the OS
on the other... how do you do it?

Install Windows on drive C:

Assuming drive D: is formatted, when installing applications - and if you have
the option to do this - tell it to store the data files on the D: drive.
Otherwise, you may have to go into the application's tools or options menu item
to change the default location of the data files.

Hello Edward,

First, when you installing winxp, on question "use maximum available space...
to install windows?" -don't.
Select partition size in MB (example 10000 MB is 10 gig).
Then, when windows are installed go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer
Management>Disk Management

There You format any free space of disk with NTFS file system.
When it's finished, windows will ask u to restart.

Then, right click on My Documents>Properties and Move it to D:\
