When I booted my computer up this morning I received an
error message taht said...

Disk I/O Error: Status 00001000

Also, it said that the file "Winnt\system32\config\system"
was corrupted.

First off, how does a file like this get corrupted? And,
how do I fix this problem without formatting the hard
drive?

I went in through the Recovery Console on another machine
to try and copy the system file, but it won't let me.

Can someone please help!!!!!

Thanks,

Andrew
