Hello

I was trying to fix my neighbours computer and he asked
me to stop the computer asking for his log-on everytime
he started the computer up. i went to the users section
in control panel and pressed on his user name and deleted
it. we restarted and now it comes up with the log in box
but we can't get past this as it doesn't recognise his
name (for obvious reasons - i deleted it!) we can't get
in to rectify this mess, and i don't have a start-up
floppy disk otherwise i would reformat and start again!

What do i do?

Sarah

Well if you deleted is name from the Control Pannel you
CANT log in back with is name cause Its no more autorized
to log-in with this accoutn. Also It was not the good to
mabge that problem by deleting is account... theres an
option that you can put On or OFF for the login session
whitout deleting is account...

Currently the only way you can acces back to the PC is to
use the administrator user name account with the specific
password... (I hope for you you know it)

You do still have another option. Instead of using a
startup/boot disk (which I can never find anyplace that
tells you how to create them!), you can simply insert the
operating system CD and reboot your computer. This will
give you the option of reformatting your OS from the CD,
so you won't have to use a boot disk. The obvious
downside being that your friend will lose any of the
files, settings, etc. that they had before. Good luck!

1) Try to login as administrator and hope the password is blank or your friend
knows what it is;

if that fails,

2) Check out:-
