I started an XP Repair Reinstall however its asking for the Windows
Service Pack 1 cd or another location that contains "Asms". I tried
typing in locations that I thought it would be on the C drive. I even
tried copying the "I386" folder that contains a folder called "Asms" to
a disc and telling setup to look there. It did not work, it doesnt
even take a second to figure out its not there. I fear it may not be
reading the CD drives.
Is there anyway to bypass the setup and get back into Windows XP? If I
am going to just tell it to install over the current xp on the same
partition instead of repairing, I want to copy files out of my
documents because I've heard that files in it would be deleted if a
repair install was not chosen.
If its impossible to get into XP, is there a way to boot into dos and
copy the fiels?
