Recently my computer has gone retarded on me and I don't
know why or how to fix it. I can't link to most websites
from my outlook and word doesn't always open now. I
recently deleted some files and uninstalled the software
symantec personal firewall and it hasn't been teh same. I
uninstalled it to reinstall it again and now my computer
won't read the disk. Any help out there would be
wonderful!

Hi Jenny,

One thing that I've found true about Norton, is you can't
get rid of their files without Formatting.
Try running an online virus scan with their free online
scans.
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ ( in the center of
page under virus definitions)

If you come up with any infection(s), print the page.
Then, Go to Google and do a search for each infection and/or
file that it finds. Look for a fix sheet by Symantec. They
generally have the most thorough fix. Print the sheets.
Remove any infections line by line of the fix sheet, or it
will be right back.

Oh, and just because I use their online scan and fix-sheets,
I don't use Norton, because of their embedding files that do
not clean up when uninstalled.

You can use Zone Alarm Pro or even the free one okay. I
really suggest you use a router, even with one computer, if
you have broad band.
