Help with Templates

Guest

I work in the Engineering department of a large utility. We have tried to
standardize the look of our report documents using a template which I created
using Word 2002 SP3. I created the template as a .dot file and stored it in
C:\Documents and Settings\youngem\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates. I
don't know how to override and apply styles to documents which already have
their own styles applied to them. I also don't know how to prevent users
from overwriting the existing style in the template. I need template HELP!!
I am looking for an MVP to work with. Thanks.

Hi Eugenie:

don't know how to override and apply styles to documents which already have
their own styles applied to them.

Look for the Help topic "Attach a different template to the active document"
I also don't know how to prevent users
from overwriting the existing style in the template.

In File Explorer, right-click the template. Choose Properties and set "Read
Only".

Cheers
