Hi,
My PC has had this registry problem (at least on my personal/restricted
account) for quite some time. I think this happened once I had to tweak
something to get the Logitech camera to work (following Logitech
instructions).

Anyway, the problem is so annoying I cannot take it anymore and want it
fixed asap. I am sure somebody here knows how I can solve it (no, I do not
need to reinstall).

The problem is that my user account suffers from short-term amnesia, no
kidding! For example, if I load an application that has an options dialog
where I can associate file extensions to that application. In there I can
select the association, for example Wave Pad -> .wav I press OK, the
application does not complain about errors probably because none seem to
verify it was actually written. Then I immediately re-invoke the same
options dialog and guess what?! the setting is gone again!!! So, for example
I cannot associate WAV with anything anymore, nor ZIP etc. and this happens
with many applications.

I think it might have to do with registry hyve permissions. So how can I
give my (restricted) account permissions to save/modify registry settings
that are supposed to be modifyable by the current user?

I hope somebody can help because this has been going on for a year or more
and I just can't bear it anymore!!!!

Thanks
Emilio

I have had unfavorable experiences with logitech cameras.
it was easier to chuck it out the windows and use a cheap
one instead. Apparently, it was my experience that the
pc had to be 100% dedicated to the cam - nothing else
in memory was allowed.... It required a unique hardware profile.

some issues with the profile hive can be resolved with
that free download from m.s. called profile hive cleaner.

as far as file associations not taking... your system diffently has
a reason for rejecting the wav and zip

my guess that maybe you have reinstalled them a number of times
and the registry got corrupted or something.... could this be possible?
