Help with project

M

Maureen

Ages and ages ago I started to make from scratch my very first Power Point
2007 project. which is a Quiz. It was tougher than I first expected but at
the time I posted an awful lot of questions on this Newsgroup. Being an
absolute newbie the help that I received at the time was amazing. I had to
put this on the back burner for quite a while due to personal committments
but I have now got myself back in the saddle and found that I had forgotten
almost everything I had learnt!

This last week I have been navigating backwards and forwards through my
program and finally came back to grips with my Quiz. Now the big problem for
me is that I do not know what the Quiz would look like when shown via a
projector. Is there anyone out there willing to run my Quiz for me through a
projector and tell me honestly whether or not it would be worth my while
investing in buying a projector of my own?

You can download the quiz from my web page (I'm also learning to write web
pages!) at the following link:

Hopefully, with practise, I will be able to use this Quiz with different
questions when required. It would be used mainly for the Elderly residents
that live in the same Sheltered Housing Complex where I reside. Thank you.

MoMo Maureen.

Hi all. I wasn't sure whether it was a little presumptious of me when I
posted my request (see below) asking for someone who might be prepared to
look at my first PowerPoint project to see if I was at least on the right
lines before I perhaps wasted my money buying a projector. As it turns out,
and in view of the zero response, it would appear that I should not really
be posting such requests here, in which case does anyone know of a more
appropriate group for such stuff?

Whether or not you buy a projector is up to you. Depends on how and where
your going to display your presentation.

Just for your information there is no difference between .pps file and .ppt
file if you have the full version of PowerPoint. the pps file will be opened
as a slideshow, and the ppt will be opened in the edit mode and if you only
have the viewer then both pps and ppt will open in the slideshow mode which
means your notes will be unavailable to the viewer.

All people here are volunteers, and I'm sure that a number of people looked
at your presentation.

There's no reason in the world not to make a request like this here.
Don't worry about that. But there's no guarantee that anyone will
take you up on it either. <g> It just depends on who's reading and
how much time they have . . . If you're seriously considering a
projector, it might be better to ask folks here for their suggestions
/experiences, then maybe rent one to try out if you can, before buying.

Thanks Steve (and Michael). I think I'll buy a projector anyway, even if my
work might not yet be up to standard, and hope I progress okay as I go
along. I've already got a file of info on projectors that I gleaned from the
newsgroup messages over the last couple of years (I had to stop for a time
through family illness so I never got much done), although I'd always be
interested in any further up to date suggestions of models to look for and
perhaps models to avoid.
