Hi, I have a problem changing the chart background color on a
powerpoint slide.

The background is all black when the chart is opened, even though on
the slide it is (as it should be) transparent. Anyone know why this
is, or how to fix it?

I've tried changing the background shade with the chart file open and
when I specify "none" the black background remains.

Thanks.

The color comes from the settings for Background that you have on your color
scheme. You'll need to change the color scheme, but keep in mind that the
Background color is used under other circumstances and there may be a good
reason why you or someone else set it up that way.

Go to Format > Slide Design and locate color scheme on the Task Pane and
click on "Edit Color Scheme" at the bottom.

This may be just a display issue. Update video drivers and change hardware
acceleration.
