One thing I hate about Windows is the check box in several dialog
boxes that ask if you want Windows to remember your preferences. I
rarely do (each situation is different), but it defaults to on. If
one forgets to check it off every time, how does one make windows
forget your preferences? The two I can think of are (1) playing media
content in Explorer versus in a separate Media Player window and (2)
remebering passwords.

It is the latter that is killing me...I went to a site I hadn't been
to since reloading Win XP and needed to renter my Username and
password. I couldn't remeber if the password was right so I told
windows not to rememer it in case I was wrong.,,and forgot to check
the box. Now it won't remeber any.

HOW DO I FIX THIS? I want it to remember my passwords..

Thanks in advance!

The settings you are asking for can be found in Windows Internetoptions in "Contents/Autocompletion
(your notations may be different as I am translating from my German XP version
