help with modem, connection

i have had windows xp for 2 years now, with not much of a problem until now.
i did a system restore coupla weeks ago and ever since have had trouble with
connection. Dials up, says im connected, can if im lucky check few emails, go
to few web pages, but then nothing happens. Shows im still connected, but
pages are displayed as unavailable...driving me insane, have made trillions
of calls to isp techs to no avail....please help anyone....tried
everyting,,,,almost....(lucky im online tonight!!

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall everything related to your connection (modem,...)? Have you updated the drivers?
