Help with missing or corrupted DLL files

I am trying to install some software on my computer and I
am unable to. I first get an error message saying "Cannot
find SHELL.DLL" then a message that says "System DLLs
corrupt or missing"

I just installed the latest Service Pack from Microsoft
for XP. I don't know how to fix this problem. Any help
that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

There should be 2 (or 3) copies. Only the one in system32 is used. Copy the one in System or DllCache into system32.
