I have a question regarding a minutes word document we have. My boss wants
to be able to hit tab or enter and a cell appear and type in the task to
complete and another cell appear for each task to be done by hitting tab or
enter. is there a way to have cells appear by hitting a button?

If there is already a table, pressing Tab in the last cell will create a new
row. There's no way to create just a single cell unless it's a one-column
table.

I am not quite sure what you mean by "a cell appear" - if you (or your boss)
want to be able to press a key in order to jump to another place in the
document (to type text in that place), you could use MacroButton fields. See:
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/UsingMacroButton.htm

You can use F11 to go to the next field and Shift+F11 to go to the previous
field (all types of fields are included, not only MacroButton fields).
