Help with HP895 question

I recently purchased a replacement for my hp895cxi, timing the
replacement purchase with the emptiness of the color ink cartridge on
the hp895.

I still have a couple b&w cartridges for the hp, and am wondering if
using only b&w on the hp, with an empty color cartridge, will in any
way hurt the hp.

Using an empty cartridge shouldn't hurt the printer. It'll obviouly fry
the heads, but since they are part of the cartridge, it'll just make it
useless to refill.
