hi all.

I have an issue deploying software or sotware updates (xp sp2) to my wxp
boxes. I' running w2k server(s) (4dc) with AD. I'm able to change the desktop
background on both w2k & wxp in my test OU. I can install adobe on the w2k
but not on the wxp box from the same software installation test group policy.
In the application event, error 1054 is displayed. -could not start thread-
Any ideas why I can't install software or perform software updates to my xp
boxes?
What can I do to fix this problem.

Kindest regards,
DMNTED

I'm trying to deploy xp sp2, but wanted to test with a diffrent program first.
Adobe has an msi that we could use. There is 50 pcs to updated and I don't
want to go to each one to do this.

Adobe has an MSI for service pack 2?

Wouldn't you be better using Microsoft's MSI for service pack 2?

How do you know the issue you're seeing isn't with the adobe MSI, have you
tried more than one MSI and had it fail?

Robert: Sorry if it is a little confusing. I need to deploy xp sp2, but
wanted to test the deployment with a program that would not take to long to
install. So I tried Adobe & Acdsee with the same results. I have a w2k & wxp
in the same OU using the same group policy to install Adobe or Acdsee. It
works on the w2k pc and not on the wxp pc.
I've been having this issue with wxp and group policies for while now with
wxp. This is the reason why I wanted to test with a smaller installation
program.

Turns out that the nic on the pc I was testing was a POS.
I got to work no problem now.
Thanks for replys.
