I have placed sp2(installed from sp2 cd) in a network folder and created a
group policy to asign the software(using the update.msi) in computer
configuration with the scope being a specific group of computers. I have
not setup any transforms, the computers are all currently running xp sp1.
They are all set to use windows update (download directly from microsoft and
install every tuesday morning).

Neither my group policy nor windows update has installed the sp2 update on
these computers? Is there something I am missing?

I recently changed my domain gpo - the windows installer policy - always
install with elevated priveledges to disabled.
Do I need to do something to allow this package to install with elevated
priveledges?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

There is a good article in the August issue of Windows & Net Mag.

In the article there is reference to enabling the setting "Always wait for
the network at computer startup and logon" policy located under the GPO's
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon object.
Aparently you need to enable this for it to work.
