help with digital camera

I have windows xp and a D-Link dsc350 3in1 digital camera that I cant seem
to get to work.I downloaded the drivers off the internet,installed
everything .Looked in device mananger all looks ok,but I keep getting a
message telling me the computer cannot detect the camera.Make sure the
device is turned on and is properly connected.Ok its on and connected,now
what??Please help.
By the way,I'm pretty new with XP .

Are you connecting the camera to a hub or directly to the computer. If you
are connecting it to a hub, try connecting it directly to the computer and
see if you still have the problem. Were the drivers XP drivers or just the
closes version you could find. In other words, if the manufacturer didn't
have XP compatible drivers and you chose Windows 2000 drivers as the closes
compatible drivers, that could be the issue.

If none of the above applies ore resolves the issue, you need to contact the
manufacturer's tech support and/or check their website for any tech papers
or FAQs that might address this issue. Hardware compatibility is the
responsibility of the manufacturer.
