Help with corrupt registry key

I've got a corrupt registry key that I cannot either delete or access.

'm trying to reinstall UPS worldship software after it was uninstalled due
to software system failure. After the uninstall I deleted all appropriate
folders, tried the reinstall again, which crashes partway through the
install (error: setup could not open registry key ICC/ISP) I edited the
registry to remove all old entries and and am stuck with one entry that will
not delete. The error message is "Error while opening key". I'm logged in as
the adminstrator so didn't think permission was a problem, but tried
resetting the permission anyway. I can reset the permission but still get the
error when deleting ("cannot delete ICC: error while deleting key"). Tried
safe mode and can't even access the key.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I would do this:
1. Boot the machine into Recovery Console mode or with a
Bart PE boot CD.
2. Copy the System or Software registry file (whichever is
appropriate) to C:\. and to C:\Copy.
3. Boot into Windows and use regedit to edit the copied file.
4. Run Steps 1 and 2 again but put the edited file back where
it came from.
5. If this causes an unexpected problem, restore the file from C:\Copy.
