Hi Patsy,
You really mean Run or Install Game from a CD/DVD, right?.
Some games require some perquisites to run or install on your system like,
Memory, Video capabilities, Flash, Disk Space..etc.
Try to run the CD game on another machine and see if it will Run or you can
Browse or explore the CD in your machine and you will find the Readme.txt
which will explain how to run it or install and the requirements for it to
run.
Are you able to run other CDs or games?.

To access the Device manger right click My Computer on your desktop and
Select Properties.
On the system properties click on Hardware then Device manager.
or Click Start >> My Computer will be listed in the second menu or submenu.
What game are you trying to access?.
HTH.
Let us know.
