Help with an internet connection

Please can someone help me resolves a internet conection
issue at work. When I try to log onto a web site I get
the message "http 407 proxy authentication required
(12209)." I have tried everything.

Does this have anything to do with a certificate
authority?

Hi, Bill -

Your web traffic is routed through a proxy server that's
looking for a username and password - or a certificate,
but the certificate thing's kinda unlikely.

If you're on a work domain you need to be logged onto the
network to authenticate to the proxy server - a local
account probably won't get you where you need to be.

If you get this error connecting to a commercial Internet
service provider it might be a good idea to contact your
ISP.
