Vince

I've installed and ran the XP-Administrator.exe file from
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_admin_ok.htm I did this
thinking that the program allowed for toggling off the appearance of
Administrator at the Welcome screen; but I have not found any
instructions how to do the toggling.

Can someone tell me where/how I may toggle the appearance of the
Administrator user at the Welcome screen ?

Thanks.

I have drilled down to that location in the registry, but do not know
what must be done next. I see the right click menu over
Administrator.

Please, one or two steps further.

TNX.

How to Modify the Windows Registry:

modify the 'dword type' data of the value 'Administrator" to be a 1

the welcome screen will only hide one user at a time. something in your registry is unusual.

I don't think that the Administrator.exe program provides instructions
on how to toggle the Administrator account to Enabled or Disabled (on
the Welcome Screen), depending on its current state.

"To use: Download the XP_AddAdministrator.zip file and save it to your
hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Open
the ZIP file you just downloaded and extract the contents to your hard
disk. Double click the EXE file that you extracted to run the
utility. This utility will allow you to toggle the Administrator
account to Enabled or Disabled (on the Welcome Screen), depending on
its current state."

Can anyone help ?

I gave feedback to Doug and he replied very quickly with the
information needed.

The file is a utility that must be exectuted each time that toggling
is desired. Simple !

Thanks for the help.
