Help with 2000 Pro

i have a problem with the starting windows:

Windows 2000 could not star because the following file is
missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

i used the cd win 2000, with the emergency repair
process but it doesn't work and then i used the recovery
console but i couldn't do nothing. I used fixboot and the
chkdsk applications.

So any help is really apreciated.
