help! Windowscrashed again. I can not run windows explorer

Windows crashed again. Windows explorer locks up when I click on the
Cdrive. I was trying to write to the DVD drive when it happened. Weird
thing is that the DVD recording software quit working also. I uninstalled
the software and it did not help.

any suggestions?

Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager. Remove the DVD drive from there and then reboot and let Windows reinstall the drive.
