help! Will pay for a slipstreamed w2kSP4 retail CD

A

Al Dykes

I don't need or want the key. I just need media.

I'll pay $20+ express delivery charges for a W2kSPD cd,
burned or factory made.

Is a base w2k disk slipstreamed to SP4 functionally identical to a
factory-made w2kSP4 disk?

I've been asked to recover an unbootable w2k machine that's full
patched but the user didn't do image backups or update his media.

he's got retail w2k.

If someone can burn a disk please contact me by email.

I don't *think* I'm breaking any of Bill's rules here. if I am
someone wil certainly tell me how.

Thanks.

He has the media?
Why not just take the media, slipstream it yourself and fix the system?

Theres a nice little program called nlite, which will help you slipstream a
windows CD. (I think it works with Windows 2000)

Yes, it is.

But that's not the same as a "fully patched" installation, as there are
many updates after SP4.

Go here:
http://unattended.msfn.org

Download all the updates

Download nLite, use it to slipstream the updates (it's very easy, just
take your time and read it)

Then you can use CDImageGUI (download it) to create a bootable ISO
(which you can write to CD with any program which supports ISO
burning).

Piece of piss. And it'lll be quicker than someone sending you a CD,
just follow the instructions at msfn.org.

not if he end up in my situation, where the r:\XPSP2.exe
/integrate:targeti386
does nothing but extracting to a temp folder and then deleted
where r: is either the cd drive or a subst drive holding the CD content on
hard drive

I searched on the net, so far I have not find out why it failed

1. Copy CD to c:\win2kcd
2. Run w2ksp4.exe /integrate:c:\win2kcd (you posted xpsp2?)
