Help w/ adware

Hi,
Every day I come and turn my monitor on there are a few windows open
with some adverts...I run Spybot and it finds a Winpup...It takes it off
my system only to come back after next restart...
Is there a GOOD way to remove all the spyware and adware etc. from my
system?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Neb

Note: the following link provides information for removing Winpup.
The procedure involves editing the registry. Don't edit your registry
unless you are sure of what you're doing and if you proceed anyway
make a backup copy of your registry.

It's a good idea to use several adware/spyware scanning tools. I use
Spybot 1.3.1, Ad-Aware SE 1.03, Pest Patrol 4.4, Spyware Stormer 4 and
Spyware Blaster 3.2.

In alot of cases, each one of those programs finds something the other
does not. These programs allow real time protection from some adware
crap as well as their scanning capabilities (although Spyware Blaster is
just an immunization tool.

Hope this helps.

Make sure to empty ALL items from your Temp folders after malware removal,
but *before* you reboot your system. Malware frequently installs setup
folders and/or files into the Temp folders, and reinstalls itself after you
reboot :(
Delete ALL sub-folders and files from the following (Do NOT delete the Temp
folders themselves):

C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
and on WinXP
C:\Documents & Settings\[each user name]\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Documents & Settings\[each user name]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files

After rebooting, empty your Recycle Bin.

*Note: If the above WinXP folders cannot be seen, use the instructions
below to make them visible.

Open My Computer or Windows Explorer. Click on "Tools" in the toolbar along
the top. From the drop-down menu, select "Folder Options...".
The Folder Options window will open. Select the "View" tab.
In the Advanced Settings section, select "Show hidden files and folders" and
right below it, uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", and right
below this, uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".
These are the 9th, 10th, and 11th options down, respectively. Summarizing:
ON - Show hidden files...
OFF - Hide extensions...
OFF - Hide protected...
