Adware-Virus?

Marcus

Hi,

I did an on line Symantec scan and was surprised to come up with 5
"infected" files. But they all seem to be adware infections that Adware SE
or Spybot didn't catch. As far as removing them, Symantec's on line scan
does not do that automatically and I can't figure out their rather
convoluted explanation as to how to do it manually. Trend's House Call found
nothing. One of the infected files: "DAPBHO.dll" will not delete because "it
is in use by windows." Is there a way around this? (I prefer to stay away
from real-time scans as they seem to slow down the computer.)

Thanks,

Marcus

Start with Hijackthis.

Notes on your dapbho.dll:

Switch to a modern, secure, unhijackable browser:

If it's identified as an AdWare virus it more than likely is not related to
AdAware at all. Different spellings. There was some malware at one time
called Adware, I had to clean it off someone's computer once upon a time.
