Help urgently required!

Can anyone provide a solution to the following problem.
I would warn you that I am no computer expert so any instructions need to be
step by step please.

When switching on our computer we receive a blue screen and the error message:
Stop: C000021a (Fatal System Error) The Windows Logon Process System process
terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xC0000096 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
The system has been shut down
 
Try pressing F8 at boot to enter the Windows Menu.
Choose to login Last Good Cnfiguration, if it won't work use Safe Mode.
After you login, open command prompt: Start > Run > "cmd"
and type "chkdsk c: /f"
Repeat this command for all other disks that you have (c,d...)
Just answer always yes, and then reboot.
After reboot chkdsk will check your HDD.
