Hey guys. First post so here goes nothing.

Recently been playing World of Warcraft and as it progresses so do the graphical requirements. My old PC is just not cutting it.

Current Spec:

XP
1GB Ram
AMD Athalon 64 Processor
NVIDA GeForce 6200 156MB
MSI K8T Neo-2F motherboard

As you can see its a rather old PC. Like i said it does run WoW on lowest setting smoothly but the new content is getting patchy.

I have a very limited budget. I asked someone with limited knowledge and he said im going to have to replace everything due to the old system.

I found:

This looked ok for a decent price. What do you guys think?

Thanks very much.

Well, it's a step in the right direction, the price is on par and you should 'see' some improvement, and, I wouldn't call it a gaming system, however, if you are not replacing your graphics card, I wouldn't bother.

I'm still using my 939, AMD 3800, 4gig ram Win7 with a nVidia GF560 GTX graphics card ... I really could do with a "bundle" upgrade too ... this system copes very well with LoTRO & DX11, it wasn't 'cheap' for me. :)

I cannot afford the 'funds' to get a decent 'bundle' as yet, work in progress, have to keep buying food for some reason. :D

Some of our other members may have a better insight as to what would be more preferable as I'm a wee bit out of the loop.

Welcome to the forums, by the way.

Hi,
There is no PSU with that bundle and I'm guessing that it has on board graphics, it should handle WoW ok.

A better solution may be a ATI HD 4650 card. At £30 that would be a cheap and easy upgrade.

With competent gaming performance and excellent HD media playback features, Sapphire's AGP HD4650 a great option for the 20 minute a day gamer, or low end HTPC. With a street price of around $75 USD, it doesn't command a great, if any, premium over the PCIe variants. This price is also cheaper than many of the common e-tailer CPU/mobo/RAM combo's seen these days, making the alternative of just replacing the system guts less attractive - no integrated graphics solution is going to come close to this card's gaming performance or output options, making the cost to match performance or beat it a lot higher. The higher performing HD3870 AGP is now becoming hard to find and has its own set of drawbacks, including heat, noise, power consumption and now out-dated media features.

Don't know what your cpu is but you might get a bit more performance by putting an extra 1 Gb of ram in your system.:)

That card would go.

However with ram/memory as cheap as it is, you can get 2 GB of Corsair for £12,

You could build your own with something like these, the latest Llano cpu's and a F1 mobo. The MSI will allow overclocking the on board GFX and the Gigabyte one has some niffty power saving. The GFX will easily handle WOW.

or these, you would need a GFX card with these though,

Both options would build you a decent pc that would be much better than the bundle you linked to. The Llano F1 system would be around the same price mark aswell.:)
